A Moneyless Life
In 2015 Jo Nemeth left her job, closed her bank account, and said goodbye to the last of her money. Feeling unable to reconcile her knowledge of the violence inherit in the global economy with how she was living day-to-day, Jo was looking for a way to radically change her life. She found this inspiration in the books by Irish ‘moneyless man’ Mark Boyle.
11 years on from the decision to live without money, Jo has been able to reduce her ecological impact dramatically while living a healthy and fulfilling life. Over this time she’s also furthered her knowledge about the crises we face globally and as a result is now ‘collapse-aware’.
This collapse awareness is now a main driver behind her work in the community where she’s learning about and experimenting with growing climate-appropriate perennial plants to build local food security.
